Who we are
Bohemia Lighting is the shop of Luboš Smitka - Bohemia Lighting, a sole trader registered in the Czech Republic under IČO 45525005, at Chloumek 32, Mírová pod Kozákovem, 511 01, Czech Republic. We are the controller of the personal data described on this page. Write to info@bohemialighting.com about anything on it.
What we hold, and why
- When you order — your name, e-mail address, telephone number, delivery address, billing address and what you ordered. All of it is needed to make the piece, send it and invoice it.
- When you pay — we never see your card. PayU S.A. takes the payment and tells us only whether it succeeded, with a transaction reference.
- When you ask us something — your name, your e-mail address and whatever you write, through the contact form or either commission form.
- When you leave a basket behind — if you reached the checkout and typed your e-mail address, we keep it with the basket so that we can send one reminder.
- When you subscribe — your e-mail address and which version of the site you subscribed from.
- When you only look — anonymous usage statistics. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you agree to them, and the cookie policy lists every one of them.
On what basis
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — everything needed to take, make, send and invoice an order.
- A legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — invoices and accounting records, which Czech law requires us to keep.
- Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — answering an enquiry, one reminder of an abandoned basket, and keeping the shop safe from fraud. You may object to any of it.
- Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — the newsletter, and the analytics and advertising cookies. You may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything done before.
Who else sees it
None of them may use your data for anything but the work we give them, and each is bound by a written contract under Art. 28 GDPR. We do not sell personal data, and we never have.
- the carrier that brings the piece — DPD, UPS, FedEx, DHL or PPL
- PayU S.A., for the payment
- our accountant, for the invoice
- the companies that host the site, store its photographs and send its e-mail
- Google Ireland Limited, for analytics and advertising, and only with your consent
Outside the European Union
The shop runs inside the Union. Google may process analytics data in the United States, under the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and under standard contractual clauses where that decision does not reach. Nothing else leaves the Union.
How long we keep it
- Orders and invoices — ten years from the end of the accounting period, because Czech accounting and VAT law requires it.
- Enquiries — three years, so that a conversation can be picked up again.
- An abandoned basket — thirty days, and then it is deleted whether or not it was recovered.
- The newsletter — until you unsubscribe, which is one click at the foot of every mailing.
- Analytics — as set out in the cookie policy.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to processing that rests on our legitimate interest. Where processing rests on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
Write to info@bohemialighting.com. We will answer within one month, as Art. 12(3) GDPR requires. If a request is unusually complex we may take up to two months more, and we will tell you inside the first month if that happens.
We make no decision about you by automated means alone, and we do not profile you.
Cookies
What is set, by whom and for how long is in the cookie policy. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the foot of every page.
If you are unhappy
Tell us first — most of it is a misunderstanding that can be settled in a day. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Ours is the Office for Personal Data Protection, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, Czech Republic (uoou.gov.cz), and you may equally complain to the authority of the country you live in.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date under the heading changes with it. The version you are reading is the one that applies.
